Wela Craft opened in Bangkok's Khlong Toei district after its founder spent several years training in mechanical watchmaking and working alongside senior craftsmen in Switzerland and Japan. The name — a play on the Thai word for time — was chosen deliberately: it's a reminder that the work is never about speed.
The workshop began as a single bench and a handful of tools. Word spread quietly among watch collectors and people who had inherited pieces they wanted to keep running. Over time, the space grew — but the pace of work, and the principles behind it, stayed the same.
Today, Wela Craft carries out movement servicing, case and crystal restoration, and full heritage overhauls for clients across Bangkok and beyond. Every piece passes through the same careful process: inspection, a written assessment, a conversation with the owner, and then the work itself — no shortcuts taken.

Krit Phaisarnwut
Master Watchmaker
Trained in Geneva and Nagoya, Krit founded Wela Craft after a decade working in professional watch service centres. He leads all movement work and oversees the heritage overhaul programme.
Nattaya Wimonrat
Case & Crystal Specialist
Nattaya handles all exterior restoration work — scratch reduction, crystal fitting, and case refinishing. Her approach is measured, and she consults closely with clients before any cosmetic work begins.
Pichit Sombatporn
Client Liaison
Pichit manages all client communications, condition reports, and service updates. He ensures you're informed at each stage and that no question goes unanswered.
How we work, in practice
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Components are cleaned in an ultrasonic bath before reassembly to remove old lubricants and particulates that cause wear over time.
Multi-Day Timing
After reassembly, regulated movements are tested across multiple positions over several days using a timing machine before we consider the work complete.
Water Resistance Checks
Included in the Heritage Overhaul, case seals and gaskets are inspected and replaced as required, then tested appropriately for the watch's rated resistance.
Written Condition Report
Every completed service comes with a written record of findings, parts replaced, work performed, and timing results — kept on file and given to the client.
Secure Storage
Every piece left in our care is stored in a locked, monitored premises for the full duration of the service, with individual labelling and tracking.
No Surprises Policy
If anything unexpected is found during work, we pause and contact you. Nothing additional is done or charged without your knowledge and approval.
Bangkok's workshop for mechanical timepiece care
Wela Craft sits on Sukhumvit Road in Khlong Toei — one of Bangkok's most accessible areas by public transit. We service clients from across the city, as well as visitors and expatriates who need a reliable hand with a watch while they're in Thailand.
Our scope covers mechanical and automatic movements from most Swiss, Japanese, and European manufacturers. We also work with vintage pieces, including those without readily available spare parts, where we source components carefully and discuss options with the owner before proceeding.
The workshop maintains a small, focused team rather than operating at volume. This means each piece receives attention from the same people throughout its service — not handed between technicians with no continuity. It's a slower model than some operations in the city, and we think that's the right approach for work of this kind.
